Positive aspects of our stay at Sofia Filoxenia House in Kalyves: warm and welcoming owners, spacious and modern house, well-maintained pool, lovely balconies and terraces, AC in all rooms, excellent cleanliness.

The hosts, Kostas and Maria, displayed true genuine Cretan filoxenia by ensuring that all facilities were in place, including a well-maintained pool and spacious balconies and terraces. They even provided snacks, fruits, drinks, and fresh croissants. the house had three large bedrooms, two bathrooms with showers, and a modern open kitchen and living room area. AC was available in all rooms, and the house was perfectly clean and regularly serviced with new towels and sheets.

More knives in the kitchen would have been appreciated for easier cooking.

Free parking, amazing mountain views, a lovely seating area, and a balcony to enjoy the surroundings. WiFi available everywhere, so I could post pictures of my vacation and make everyone jealous!

I had the pleasure of staying at Sofia Filoxenia House in Kalyves and it was absolutely wonderful. The house itself is lovely, with a beautiful interior design and a fully equipped kitchen. The location couldn't be better, just a short stroll away from the village square and the sandy beach. The highlight of my stay was the warm hospitality of the owners, Maria and Kostas. They were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. From welcoming me with a delicious homemade pie to providing a direct phone contact for emergencies, they truly made me feel like a part of their village. The pool and the well-maintained gardens added to the overall experience. I couldn't have asked for a better stay. I highly recommend Sofia Filoxenia House for a truly unforgettable vacation.

For the price we paid, Sofia Filoxenia House offered excellent value. The rooms were clean and spacious, and we loved the modern feel of the house. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the town center, yet it felt like we were in the countryside with the soothing sounds of hens clucking and dogs barking. The owners, Kostas and Maria, treated us like old friends, spoiling us with delicious treats and providing exceptional service. They even arranged for local musicians to come and play for us when our daughter left for her wedding. We couldn't have asked for better hosts.

The breakfast options could have been more varied.

The location is amazing - close to town yet feels like countryside. Private swimming pool is mind-blowing. The internal design is super stylish with an open plan layout. Balcony overlooking the pool for jaw-dropping dinners. Security of the electric gate is a plus. The gardens are lush and beautiful. Maria and Kostas are the kindest and most helpful hosts, spoiling us with treats. First-class aircon kept us cool throughout our stay.

Lovely owners/family! The house had a private yard and all the necessary amenities. The location was quiet with a nice view and close to the center of town. We enjoyed using fresh produce from the garden and the local products provided. My son loved the swing in the garden. Everything we needed was within walking distance.

Loved the detached holiday home with a pool and mountain views. Free parking - because who doesn't love to pay for parking? Located close to everything but not TOO close. A seating area and balcony were a nice touch. WiFi worked, so I could share my fabulous vacation pics.

We had an amazing stay at the lovely Sofia Filoxenia House Villa in a quiet area with a nice view. the house was well-equipped with a private yard, and we were delighted to use the garden harvest to make fresh orange and lemon juice. the owners, Kostas and Maria, were extremely friendly and helpful, offering snacks and drinks upon our arrival. They provided tips on how to prepare Cretan artichokes and also surprised us with local products to taste. My son especially enjoyed the swing in the garden. Everything we needed was within walking distance, including cafes, restaurants, shops, bakeries, the beach. The apartment itself was well-located in a beautiful village and had everything we needed for a perfect family holiday. Cons: Almost perfect! 😊.
